The energy challenge<\/h3>\n

Energy and environmental issues are at the heart of today’s concerns. As developers of real estate projects, it is becoming increasingly important for us to take these aspects into account in our thinking upstream of a construction project. <\/p>\n

We have therefore studied the various methods and materials available to optimize both use and energy savings.<\/p>\n

This is how we decided to set up a heat network system in our Le Clos de la Grande Hulle project in Profondeville<\/a>, which will serve as an example for our future projects.<\/p>\n

This heating network operates through centralized heat production using mainly renewable energy sources. These include geothermal energy, heat pumps, photovoltaic and thermal solar panels. <\/p>\n

The heating network drastically reduces our carbon footprint and provides an economical, sustainable solution.<\/p>\n

Ease of use and operation<\/h3>\n

Basements are an infinite source of possibilities and heat. They provide a reserve of energy at a constant temperature throughout the year (around 10\u00b0c), enabling heating in winter or natural cooling in summer. <\/p>\n

In cold winter months, the heat from the basement is recovered by a heat pump and distributed to all apartments via a distribution network (heat network), ensuring optimum ambient temperatures in private apartments.<\/p>\n

In hot summer months, the heat network will be used as a source of cooling via the underfloor heating circuit. This system may be less responsive than conventional air-conditioning, but it’s still highly efficient, long-lasting and, above all, significantly less energy-consuming. <\/p>\n

Whether for heating or cooling, the district heating network brings the thermal energy produced on site (hot or cold) via heat pumps and geothermal probes to the point of consumption in each private apartment. The advantages of this heat network system lie in the meshing of different energy sources. The end-user is guaranteed a stable, locally-produced energy source, with much higher efficiency than an individual heat pump. <\/p>\n

It’s a heating method that’s sustainable, environmentally friendly and, in the long term, economically advantageous for residents of equipped lots.<\/p>\n

Le Clos de la Grande Hulle – a sustainable choice<\/h3>\n

The choice of a heating network for the Le Clos de la Grande Hulle real estate project in Profondeville is a responsible choice that reflects the commitment of the property developer Devlop<\/em><\/a> s commitment to sustainable development. The system meets residents’ needs for comfort and well-being, while promoting the use of local, renewable energy sources to cover thermal energy requirements. <\/p>\n

It’s on this premise of eco-responsibility and using the advantages of our environment that Devlop<\/em><\/a> decided to build an innovative real estate project consisting of four multi-residential buildings near Namur – Le Clos de la Grande Hulle<\/a>.<\/p>\n
